The Best of 2012: Beauty

BEST EYE CREAM - CHANEL ULTRA CORRECTION LIFT

Other eye creams that I tried, I can't really see the difference they made. But the Chanel one, I saw it the next day. It has this tiny micro light reflecting particles in it that brightens up your eyes. It's like I put some highlighter in the inner tear duct area. I used to have one or two minor crease lines under my eyes but they're less obvious now. My eye area is hydrated and the cream does not break me out. But then again I'm only 21 so I can't say if it works the same on more matured skins. It is worth the money, I will buy it again. But word of advice, it's cheaper in Malaysia than in the States. I don't know why but it just is.

BEST FOUNDATION - MUFE HD

I had tried a lot of foundations and MUFE HD still tops my chart. I bought two more foundations (MUFE Face & Body and Urban Decay Naked) this year and the rest were just samples I took. MUFE Face & Body broke my skin out. Naked is okay, good coverage, good color match, not oily, long lasting, everything that HD is but I prefer how HD looks on my skin more. Naked is more matte on me while HD is a bit more dewy and my skin looks fresh with it.

BEST MASCARA - EYEKO SKINNY BRUSH

This is a defining, wet mascara and you can't get fake lashes volume with it. But, it looks so natural that the only way someone would know you're wearing it is if they touch your eyelashes. I have VERY oily eyelids and this is the ONLY mascara that does not smudge on me. For events, I would use Eyeko as my first coat, followed by other voluminous mascara (MUFE, YSL, or L'oreal). I have repurchased this mascara and will continue restocking them.

BEST EYEBROW PENCIL - MAC LINGERING

Even though Lingering is described as a 'soft taupe brown', as other reviews said, it looks sooo natural and perfect for girls with dark/black hair. I don't have to sharpen it because it uses a twist mechanism. It's so easy to use and I had run out of it. Will be restocking it asap.

BEST BLUSHER - BENEFIT BELLA BAMBA, TARTE ACHIOTE

I couldn't decide which of these two that I like best. I have been loving Bella Bamba for so long and even though I just got my hands on Achiote, I knew it is one of the best by the first wear. I decided on these two not because of the color. My color preference changes with time so the one thing that I look at is how blendable the blushes are. These two are the easiest to blend, and you can never over-apply your blush with them.

BEST LIPBALM - BODY SHOP ALOE LIP TREATMENT

I have the driest, most chapped lips in the world. I could count the days in a year when my lips are supple, smooth and perfect. This also means that I have tried a LOT of different lip balms and this one is the best. I put it on every night before sleep and my lips won't be as dried out the next morning. I wear it before wearing any lipstick, and even before wearing the Sugar lip balm. Yes, sometimes I wear two layers of lip balms.

MOST SURPRISING PRODUCT - BURBERRY FRESH GLOW

I bought this after being pressured by the guy at the Burberry counter. He said it's their best product and I honestly just didn't care about face primers. I didn't believe that they are worth the money. However, this is a great product! On the days that I'm wearing it, I noticed that my skin looked brighter, and alive. berseri-seri gitu. This is the product that makes the Naked foundation looks nice on me, not as matte. I can't say that I will repurchase, but if you want to splurge, I would say to splurge on this.

As you may have noticed, I only mentioned certain beauty stuff because I don't have any winners for the others.
