Lesson of the Day from Feldo

Feldo is my math professor. tadi pergi office hour, pastu hamik ko die bebel satu jam kt aku about life.

seriously it was 1 hour. ok maybe 30min sb the other 30 tu Q/A.

Basically, what he told me was that grades are not important in life. College was not about getting good grades. It's about LEARNING to fully understand the SPIRIT of the class materials. If you understand the basic concepts, then you will know the other concepts.

It's useless if I get a high score on one test, but I forgot about the materials a month later. That means that I memorize the fact and not understanding it.

No one will ask you about your grades later on. Unless if you are applying for graduate school. For work, at most only 1 person will ask you. Your boss won't care if you get an A or a B in math (or in any courses!), they just want you to be able to solve the problem that they give to you. Sounds familiar? Yes it was Bhuva's words.

What really matter for work is recommendation letters. Which come from your senior design projects (or summer research etc). Which you will have to understand the problems in your projects and the concepts used to solve it in order to impress whoever's evaluating your project so that they will write you a good recommendation letter.

Do you know what my hobby is? I love to browse through online shopping websites. Like every single day. Browse je. Until I lose control and end up buying something.

This is the Fall '09 collection sebab tu die murah. Murah for a Marc Jacob's. Isn't it gorgeous??? I don't think this color is available anymore. So I'll probably get the one in Talc. Probably.

Fujifilm Instax Camera

It's like Polaroid but the picture size is smaller (and this is the best thing that we can get nowadays since Polaroid had discontinued the filem for the gambar). But the Fujifilm ones are still vintage and cool! I had been wanting a camera like this since I was 10! The one in the picture is USD 130. Another smaller model is USD 158. It'll be so awesome if I get to decorate the wall in my room next semester with the polaroid pictures!

And there are a few others. Like cute dresses/shorts from Forever 21, makeups from Sephora, and some amazing AE jeans.

Which reminds me, I bought a pair of jeggings and a hot pink top from Gilly Hicks Sydney. I had never heard of that brand before until the day I that I googled for small-sized jeans. Gilly Hicks is like sedare A&F.

They were (are still!) on sale. Shipping was $10. total including tax was around $52. The jegging fitted me around my waist (lower waist) perfectly at first. But after a few hours of wearing it, die mcm jadi loose sikit and I had to keep pulling them up so tak londeh. FYI it was the smallest size aka size 00 (23"). However, the fit around my bum2 and thigh okay je. just the waist jadi a bit longgar. and I hate wearing a belt. The top was cute, the color sesuai utk spring I guess. It's bright kinda like an attention grabber sikit, but whatevs!

Tak tau lah nak beli which one, or both? Gaji dah masuk and now rase sayang pulak nak spend on the bag. camera tu ok la lagi kot. Plus, I've been doing really well in my academics so I think I deserve to treat myself. FYI, I was a B electrical engineering student. BUT for the recent Circuits II test, I got an A+(the class average was a B-) and was also the highest in class! Alhamdulillah I thought I have no hopes already.

This weekend will probably have a date night at Maggiano's. Super duper excited!

I just noticed a video posted by a friend of mine on FB. tajuk die, patutla kene tsunami.

That is just rude. the video was about how the Japanese slaughter dolphins every year.

So what? That does not give YOU the right to say that Japan deserves to get hit by the tsunami because they kill dolphins.

Lagi2 negara tu ditimpa bencana bertubi2. earthquake, tsunami, nuclear plant explosion, all in one week (?)

Where's your sense of humanity by posting that video?

Oh and yg post the video was a med student. There's no way that you are going to be a good doctor.

Perfect Japanese

Why do I love this spring semester? because all of my professors are awesome!

In Japanese class, I had to answer a Japanese question in Japanese. My Japanese professor pujiiii kate I answered in purrrrfecttt Japaneseee. oh sukenye sayeeeee

then, in EECE 213, Dr. Reed gave me a high 5 for successfully solving a problem. pernah ke korang high 5 prof?? haaa spesel kan :P

And thennnn, I got 100 for my Math 196! ok fine 100/103. but still 100 tak kire (fine its 97%). FYI I was a B math student. First timeee dpt this high so hepi laaa. Salah 1 true/false question je :) Thank you Feldo (the prof) sb pandai ajar. See? it all depends on the instructor. kalo prof pandai ajar budak tak pandai mcm aku pon boleh dpt bagus. hehe

EECE 214...mmm easy materials, conceptual je. plus Dr Kawamura bagi hint byk gile kot kat the whole class during the test. and still aku tak paham ape die nak. haha. and ade like 14 people je yg amik klas tu. besttt

for C++, Dr Roth is soo awesome, C++ is soo fun, the TA are soo helpful but workload byk sgt. sb tu withdraw. haha . its okay amik balik time senior :)

mulut tak reti jaga

hari ni someone dah buat aku sdih n terasa. lpas habis rase sedih, aku akan marah.

ko ni sedap2 mulut je nak bagi comment. aku tak mintak pon comment ko. aku tak show off pape pon kat ko. dah la ko tu tak rapat pon ngan aku. tetibe datang cakap main lepas je. ko igt ko bagus sangat? sukati aku la aku punye barang. unless la kalo ko tu anak raja ke anak datuk ke anak sesapa yg kaya ke aku terima la comment ko. ini? setakat....

Good Movies

When I said 'Good', I mean meaningful movies, not romantic comedy/sci-fi or anything like that.

So, here's a few movies that I've watched recently:

1) Hachiko, A Dog's Tale.

a story on a dog's loyalty for his deceased master for 10 years. that is until the dog died. nangis macam org gile. the 1st movie to make me nangis mcm hantu.

2) The Diary of Anne Frank.

yes it is based on the book about a Jewish girl yg hidup masa Holocaust. her family and 4 other people had to hide in his dad office for 2 years while a war was happening outside. 6000 Jews were killed while they were hiding. kire lucky la diorg leh nyorok

3) The Aryan Couple.

another story masa Holocaust. ini macam saspen sikit nak tgk whether diorg berjaya escape to Swiss or not. mmg cuak la sampai tutup2 mulut takot sorang2. A Jewish couple menyamar jadi Germans so that tak kena bunuh but of course kantoi. pastu bos die tolong rasuah nazi.

pelik kan 2 out of 3 movies ni pasal Jews and Holocaust. haha. They are good movies still.

Credits to my wonderful boyfriend who is subscribing to Netflix, bolehlah saye tompang account skali ye.

For Mama

Mak already told me that she wants a Coach handbag. Siap tunjuk mana satu lagi dkat website tu :)

So today I went to the Coach store at Green Hills and berjaya beli. siap dressed up makeup2 lagi takot orang kedai takmo layan. It was the shortest shopping trip ever. like 5-10 minutes only. haha. masuk, tengok, pegang, beli. habis cerita.

Mak tak suka design yg tulis C C C C or ade tulis Coach terang terangan. tak cool kononnye. She wants it in black, kaler utk makcik2 kononnye jugak.

So..this is the bag!

beli guna duit sendiri tauuu. hasil titik peluh kerja selama ni. hehe. sooo if mak tak suke, tunggu la next year I'll buy u another one :)

You see my mom is a very simple makcik, so beg pon kene lah simple jugak. Ade je design lain yg lawa lagi tapiii its tooo lawa. like mak datin punye.

Haritu mak kate kalo x cukup duit pegi je la outlet. Duit tu ade je plusss my Mommy deserves a real Coach. Not that kat outlet tu fake but well, they are imperfect. I want to give my Mommy excellent quality stuff.

Pretty Girls

Pretty girls are so pretty kan? lols.

I think a perfect girl would be someone who is really pretty and likable. If you're ugly no one likes you. If you're pretty not everyone likes you. This one girl from my high school is so pretty that every guy wants to be her boyfriend and every girl wants to be her best friend. Her charm still works today.

It's hard to be likable. I think it's a natural thing. One must be born with it, you can't just change yourself to be likable.

Btw, I googled pretty, and a picture of Miley Cyrus were displayed. WTH she is not pretty.

For me,

cute = small figure, small features, big round eyes.

pretty = nice. A nice girl who have the looks.

hot = dark hair, sexy eyes, and 'bad'. I mean bad as in naughty2 girl *wink2*. Not bad as in being hot is a bad thing.

Mila Kunis is cute+pretty+hotttt. ok maybe cute+hot je. I saw her being in a bad mood and tarik muncung kat red carpet Grammy's. Awww. I love her even more after watching 8 seasons of That 70's Show. Jackie and Hyde is a cute couple. I even named my bike shop in Cityville after them. haha.

Self Defence

Most of us will say stuff that will make us feel good when we didn't get what we want. And sometimes what we say offends other people who have what we want.

Like if there are no more pecan pies at the dining hall, I would say, "fine at least diet skit sb hari2 makan pecan pies and he who got the last pie must be sooo fat".

..

SO NOT TRUE!

I would be sad all lunch hour and wish that they would restock the pies tomorrow. LOL.

So, if someone is condemning whatever you do, it's either what you do is wrong, or that they are just jealous because they are unable to do what you do. And it's up to you whether to listen to them and change your way of life, or to just ignore them and do whatever that make yourself happy.

Also, if someone said something mean to you, or about you, or maybe just some talks (that may look random) but apply to you, it means that that person is envious of something that you have, or that you are just annoying (LOLs!).

Have you guys played Tiny Wings? It's the new Iphone app and it is soooo cute and fun!

you have to make the bird fly as fast and as high as you can! there are goals to be accomplished to upgrade your nest. hihi

Ola Oli

I woke up today with a huge headache! I stared at the ceiling, it was movingggg and the pain was throbbing. I shut my eyes, the pain reduced, and I continued to stare at the ceiling until it fully stopped.

I had to go to class because there was a homework due today and I decided to stay for the lecture since dah bangun jalan anyways. 30 minutes later I was already packing my stuff and balik because I couldn't stand it any longer.

Stopped at the munchy mart and bought Xenadrin since in the iklan pompuan tu cakap she got migraine and Xenadrin works for her. Tido for 3 hours, I was all better.

But not entirely la. Still rasa x sedap badan and kepala!

Okay next week is spring break and I'm not going anywhere. You can expect a lot of blog posts from me since mesti nnt bosan gile keje aku nak merepek je.

Selingan:

This is Baby Lex, Shah's cousin who lives in NYC's upper west side (dipisahkan dgn Gossip Girl by Central Park saje ok!). He is soooooooo adorable and I miss him. This is the first baby who is sooo nice to me. No kids have ever liked me :( so Lex, I like u. hehe. FYI, he eates smoked salmon and I find it weird.
