Family Vacay 2012: Tokyo

My second brother, Abg Nin, is taking his PhD at Tokyo Denki Uni. So, we figured this is the perfect time to visit him and the city as well.

My mom and I went to Singapore first since our flight departed from Changi. Stayed for a night at Marina Sands Bay. jalan2 Bugis street and mall which was awesome! sgt recommended kalo nak street shopping! Then Akak blanje minum TWG tea kat Marina Sands Bay mall which offers hundreds type of teas. interesting tapi super mahal. one pot is like $20, good for 3 servings of teacup.

Next day, flight to Narita Airport. Stayed at Abg Nin's tiny cozy jepun-style home. He had to amik cuti to take us jalan2. From the airport we took 2 trains to get to Adachiku (Gotanno station). After unpacking and resting, we went to Tokyo Tower and had dinner at a halal restaurant, 2x2=8. Since there is a new tower built, SKytree I think, Tokyo tower tu tak ramai orang pon. The view is really pretty at night with all the lights.

The next day we were supposed to go to Disneyland but woke up late. Instead, we jalan2 at the local supermarket and petang skit we went to Akihabara(electronic town?) and ada manga2 anime stores. kat cni la kalo nk beli Gundam ke, electronics ke. I bought a massage pillow hihi. Dinner at a nice, affordable sushi place at Minami Senju.

On Sunday, pegi Disneyland for a full day. Penat ok jalan satu hari nak mati. no scary rides pon. naik Pirates ride, Peter Pan, Snow White, then tgk musical performance by Minnie and friends! nk naik buzz lightyears tp waiting time 100min, mmg takla. so instead pegi Captain EO. tak best sgt.

On Monday, went to Shibuya, Harajuku and Shinjuku. 3 tempat ni mmg train station next to each other, so senang. Shibuya got the famous Hachiko statue, and mcm Times Square NY. Banyak la kpop ads like T-ARA and that Love Rain guy (JGS?). Harajuku byk street shops and fashion pelik2. Byk bags and payung comel2. Daiso besarrr pon ade. I bought Shohoku jersey tshirt yg Sakuragi punyee. Shinjuku luxury shopping a sikit. ada giant Tokyu Hands store (jual barang2 menarik). and kat Kinokuniya ada jual these magazines with awesome free gifts like YSL tote bags and such. Dinner at a halal Pakistani restaurant at Akihabara.

Tuesday, balik already. The airport shopping nice jugak. leh beli Kit Kat macam2 flavors and ada keychains sume. kalo lupa nk beli souvenirs, bli je kt airport. price x mahal, sama je ngan kedai luar. in fact, better beli kat airport je kot.

A few makanan sedap yg boleh dibeli kt any Japanese grocers are: Tuna onigiri, Soba noodles, banana-strawberry yogurt drink, wasabi munchies, and rice crackers. The people there are very nice and sopan. Also, no eating or drinking dlm public transport! Overall, I highly suggest for all of you to visit Japan. But it would be better if you have someone to show you around.
