Last Thursday was the start of my awesome weekend in ChicagO!
It was an 8 hour drive and I took the midnight driving shift because I got conjunctivitis and my eyes were really sensitive to bright lights. On Friday, we went to Lollapalooza just to see Coldplay (my eyes were also healed in time!). There was Muse too but they were playing at the SAME time so we chose Coldplay since we had already seen Muse before.
There were soooo many people weh. Almost like NYC dah. we arrived at Grant Park around 5pm because the traffic going into Chicago was really bad. Coldplay started at 8.30 pm so we jalan2 around a bit tengok2 other bands yg performed. Around 6 ish we went to the station yg Coldplay nak main (there were 5 different stations, Muse kat station lain). There was a sucky band playing at the time but since nak cop tempat, tahan je lah. around 7 people started filling up the field. At 8.30 sharp, Coldplay came out and gave us an awesome night. siap ngan fireworks lagi you.
The next day, we jalan2 around downtown Chicago. We walked along Michigan Avenue byk la kedai2 shopping nye like ZARA, Burberry, F21, Topshop etc. Sadly Topshop was under construction so tak dapek ler nak visit their US store. At Water Tower Place byk jugak kedai2 awesome like Macy's, Lush, Coach, Americann Girl, LEGO etc. I bought LEGO keychains for my sis since she kirim-ed one when I went to Florida but didn't found LEGO store there.
Around 8, we tapau some Subway and got in line for the Arctic Monkeys Lollapalooza Aftershow at House Of Blues Chicago. The gig was scheduled to start at 11 and yes, we waited for 3 hours. Here is the most exciting part, we got to get in early since we buy a $20 value merchandise at the HOB store and yes, FRONT ROW bebeh! like literally we were standing right behind the fence besi dkat stage tu. As soon as the band appeared on the stage, the crowd went crazy and started pushing so yes I was squeezed to the fence like a bug (bruised my knee and my chest is still hurting from the 'mayhem'). Nevertheless, it was however the best gig/concert I've ever been to!
Shah mmg die hard fan AM so I decided to layan his kerenah yang nak cari their trailer after the gig ended. You see, HOB is not that big so we knew that it is NOT impossible to actually find the trailer or even better, the band themselves. sekali, I saw a couple of guys walking towards us and one of them got this jambul Elvis. I was like, SHAH, ITS ALEX TURNER! He's walking so casually to the club behind us and of course we went after him. but there were a couple of fanatic girls yang dah sebok2 dulu sampai his friend/manager/bodyguard had to pull him away into the club. I did however grabbed his shoulder while the other girls went crazy around him. YES I TOUCHED ALEX TURNER.
So we didn't want to leave yet, knowing that Alex was right there INSIDE the club. We decided to wait and while waiting, we walked around, still trying to find their trailer. Mission gagal so we walked back to the club and again, I saw what Shah didn't see: Alex slambernye stood in front of the club, smoking. AND NO ONE IS AROUND HIM. Line clear beb. I was starstrucked and completely speechless. So I just tugged at Shah's arm showing him that Alex was just right there. He immediately went up to him and asked for a picture. Alex kindly agreed and after the picture he still stood outside the club, sambung sapkok with his friend. He didn't even bother to hide or run away. Do you think we left just like that? Of course nottttt. We sticked around, stalking him, usha2 from tepi. It's Alex Turner kot we did not want to walk away from him! it was until he finished smoking and got back inside the club that we finally went back to our hotel.

So yes I am officially an Arctic Monkeys fan. They are coming to Nashville so I am really looking forward to see them again! and of course we will still try to find him in Nashville. We got so lucky that night. The timing and everything was just perfect! (which rarely happens to me).
on Sunday, we stopped by the Prime Outlet. Since the prices are not that discounted, I only got one top and a belted long vest sweater from Calvin Klein, both for a total of $30. and that sums up our short Chicago weekend trip and I must say, hands down, the BEST trip I've ever been to. Two live bands, one rock star in person, what else could top that?
I am sorry if I sounded jakun and overly excited on the whole Alex Turner thing but it is MY FIRST TIME to actually meet a famous person :D
Okay sorry lupe plak dah jumpe Zee Avi n The Script nye lead tu. But Alex is different because it's ALEX TURNER from ARCTIC MONKEYS la korang!
